There are 3 basic teachings on the Second Coming of Christ.
1. Pre-tribuation- we will be taken before the tribulation starts
2. Mid-trib- somewhere in the middle (before the really bad stuff starts) we'll be taken
3. Post-trib- near the end we'll be taken
Which do you think will happen with what you know? Which would you prefer? Why?

There is no way to answer that question based on what I know because there really isn't anything that covers the rapture in the Bible that would make me confident about anything that I'm about to say....LOL
I personally hope that we go pre-tribulation. I've seen enough bad, scary 70's movies about the end times to know that I don't want to be flogged and whipped and tortured for refusing to take the mark of the beast. The only reason that I even would think mid-trib is the same reason that everyone else says about how the "church" isn't mentioned in Revelations after the first so many chapters. People speculate that it's not mentioned because "the church" (ie: Christians) aren't here anymore. It would be nice if that happened. I personally tend to think that we may be more of a post-trib rapture. I mean, Christians have been persecuted and put to death for centuries. No where does it say in the Bible that it's ever going to be an easy road. In fact, it pretty much says that we'll be persecuted. Why would God spare us in this generation? It's not like we as a society have become more God fearing as time progresses. In fact, we're worse.
I like your reasoning. Although, I will say that the Bible says more than people think.
I agree with the basic idea that we have been run through the ringer for centuries, why stop now. I know why people want a pre-trib belief, but i disagree with the premise that GOd doesn't want us to go through all that
